BOPP Films

BOPP films are produced from selected grades of polypropylene that are stretched in two directions—Machine Direction (MD) and Transverse Direction (TD). This biaxial orientation gives the film an integrated structure, high mechanical strength, excellent optical clarity, and dimensional stability. The term BOPP stands for Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene, highlighting the dual direction orientation inherent to its production process.

Manufacturing Process

BOPP films are manufactured on specialized BOPP film extrusion lines. The molten polymer is extruded through a flat die and cast onto a chilled roll where thickness uniformity is achieved.
The film is then stretched biaxially (longitudinally and transversely) to enhance its strength and mechanical properties.
After orientation, the film passes through a cooling and annealing section to fix dimensional stability and is finally rewound into large rolls ready for printing, lamination, and packaging applications.
