Biaxially Oriented Polyester Films (BOPET)
These films are produced through biaxial stretching techniques, which significantly enhance their mechanical and chemical properties. Made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), they exhibit outstanding strength and dimensional stability thanks to their oriented molecular structure. PET, the primary raw material, ensures excellent clarity and flexibility, making it ideal for modern sustainable packaging applications.
Manufacturing Process
The fundamental building blocks of PET are ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid, which combine to form a polymer chain. The resulting spaghetti like PET strands are extruded, rapidly quenched, and cut into pellets. These resin pellets are then melted and extruded or molded into products with precise shapes and characteristics.
Performance Characteristics of BOPET Films:
Superior mechanical strength
Enhanced chemical resistance
High dimensional stability under temperature variations
Excellent oxygen barrier properties
Outstanding optical clarity
Exceptional surface smoothness
High abrasion resistance
Excellent surface treatability and coating compatibility
